Location

Waresley Wood is a woodland reserve in Cambridgeshire between the villages of Waresley and Great Gransden.

Take the B1040 to the village of Waresley. In the middle of the village, by the Duncombe Arms, there is a sharp turn and junction. Turn down Waresely Road. About 800m down the road there is the entrance to a car park on the right. After parking, head to the woods. You will need to cross Brownes' Piece, an open field, to the woods. There are marbled whites on south-eastern end of Brownes Piece at suitable times of year. There are often butterflies on the main ride into the wood (on the brambles and purple loosestrife), likewise when you get to a bench and turn right down this the ride heading eastwards.
